what do you imagine the social network would/could/should become? Obviously what we have is not working for some folks.

I actually like 2006 twitter. Almost pleasant because of its obscurity.

- Only 140 characters - Increasing that added to the slop. Brevity was soul - No 'For you' algo. You had to find and follow the people you wanted to follow and then read all of their posts - RTing it was literally adding RT in front of the other person's tweet. - There was a 'like' icon (I think - don't remember) - There was no paid 'verified' accounts. You had to signal your official twitter account through different means. - There was no monetization for random clickbait ragebait content. - Ads are not that intrusive on twitter. That as a monetization strategy still works. - You only discovered people and not content.

December for me too, went from hallucinating a lot, to doing really well. I guess it was opus 4.5?

Seems like a great opportunity for the "Boring Co" to start specializing in digging underground bunkers for data centers. You KNOW our AI Overlords are going to want it!

Datacenters under ground have similar problem to datacenters in the space - it is hard to cool them down.

I thought space was the plan?

Wasn't Epstein a conspiracy theory once? Epstein cover up has made me believe that cover ups DO happen, and if this one was covered up, what else has been cover up?

It still is, and it is plainly a true conspiracy. Hence its placement at the top end of the spectrum.

What else has been covered up? Oh boy...

How we are moving towards a hive mind with AI as the bridge

IMHO any idiot can create a piece of crap. It takes experience to create good software. Use your experience Luke! Now you have a team of programmers to create what ever you fancy! Its been great for me, but I have only been programming C++ for 36 years.

As someone who has been a coder/em/vp/founder for over 40 years.

The last 3 months of using Claude Code has convinced me that in order to have a job in software very soon you will have to a both a coder and an engineering manager.

It takes both of those skills to effectively manager AI, and managing AI teams is all it will be about within 2 years. Problem is if you dont understand coding, its hard to see the traps AI falls into. They are both amazingly smart, and incredibly dumb at the same time. Just like people!

Does anyone know if this uses Microvoxels or an Octree? As someone who has built an Octree engine I am curious. I will say it is gorgeous!

Both! It uses an octree, and at the leaves are bricks of small voxels.

>I mean all the major hurdles of making a game aren't really helped much by AI...

I have been using Claude Code to develop a game in unreal engine. It is fricking amazing. Its like hiring someone with 10 years experience to work for you. I am really impressed by how it know game patterns.

>It definitely doesn't get anything visual right really. Sometimes it struggles to things things right visually, other times it nails it!

I have been using an MCP from gemini image 1.5 to generate my icons. And once it go my styles down, after 20 experiments, it does really good. Notice: It uses high quality by default which will burn up your credits. But if you turn down the image quality to low, it cost around 3 cents an icon.

>There isn't large amounts of automated testing.

Some things can be easily automated for testing. But other things require play testing.

>The art is also going to all be really derivative plagiarism

I am just using it to generate icons, and it does great. For 3D artwork I either use things from the FAB Store, or I pay a team of artists in Pakistan to do it.

Overall I say it is the equivalent to have a senior dev on your team, for 100 bucks a month

edited for line breaks.

Did you mean gpt-image-1.5? (the Gemini models are Imagen or NB)

yes, we are using gpt-image-1.5

I applaud Anthropic choice. Choosing principle over money is a hard choice. I love Anthropic's products and wish them success!

You applaud anthropic's choice to enhance mass surveillance of non-US people? If anthropic want mass surveillance, they should limit it to their own country, not to all other countries IMO.
