I'm with you. It's just that I'd had enough conversations with the bot interrupted by "honest caveats" and "actual gaps" that I needed to vent, and then felt the irrational desire to intellectualize said venting.

It inspired the plugin, so ya know, it wasn't a complete waste.

It's a wonder how far one can get in wrangling AI coding agents by using industry standard project management principles and being articulate about one's requirements and goals.

Because he's not the center, presumably.

The singularity has been 10 years away for the past 40 years, so don't you worry lad.

Didn't realize he was in his 50s.

Darn shame.

Aktchually 50s start at age 51

I'd say they start at 49, as that is the beginning of your 50th year.

get enough software people in a room and everything becomes the fencepost problem.

Or the hobby folks are all too busy with their hobbies to chat these days.

It's too bad, though. Regardless of what hobby you're in, it's a golden age to have it.

I don't think it's really a golden age. Personally I find people more superficial and distracted in their hobby though. It always has to be something to be superfially shared on the internet.... some people are fine with that but I think it's a loss. Not everyone will agree but that's just different values.

surely coding projects is a hobby surely eveyron HN is finishing all their "dream" projects that were vastly impossible to finish before AI? otherwise thats just me

is it cheaper for medium scale folks? not everyone needs to go big on ai subscriptions and a solid, reliable midrange option wouldn't go amiss
