You have colortemperature, and it has several layers available: GR (green-red) and BG (blue-green) - They are the ratios of those bands. CCT is Correlated Color Temperature. Median_cal is the calibratedimage.

All data courtesy of the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS). And with its SDGSAT-1 satellite it is ideal for classifying lighting technologies.

The term noctalgia shall express "sky grief" for the accelerating loss of the home environment of our shared skies - representing loss of science, heritage, millennia-old sky traditions, place-based language, and more - and summarize next steps to address the protection of our nighttime and daytime skies.

See how the effects of light pollution on your sky compare to the Murry River International Dark Sky Reserve. This simulation demonstrates from a ground perspective the real difference between light-polluted night skies and natural darkness, based on the data of lightpollutionmap.info

I have created a map to showcase which cities/communities in Germany (and other countries) do switch off lights at night - mostly for saving energy, some for protecting #biodiversity I'll be updating this list / map whenever I notice new items.

Almost every item has the corresponding news link as reference.

The map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1nxZDQjCwxKov-cHD8t...

The data: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZePwJHgj5UdnZfQp2UaS...

Add cities to the list by filling out/submitting this form: https://forms.gle/FyZBS23njYPpc8BY7

Feel free to use the data as you like or share. It's public data anyway.

Side-effect of the switch-off is clearly less light pollution and thus a relief to nocturnal species.

It might help convincing the one or other mayor or administration that there are already many others who switch off lights at night (some since years).

In the meantime there are >300 communities which switch off lights at late night hours. 164 in Wallonia/Belgium, 50 in Luxembourg, >100 in Germany. How about your countries?
