I think fate is a fair one to struggle with because not only is it a complex franchise, none of the Fate anime are even close to perfect. Zero tells an interesting story but you have to put up with Gen Urobuchi and it spoils parts of Stay Night. Stay Night is the classic, but calling the original anime dated is an understatement. Unlimited Blade Works (Ufotable) is very shiny and a lot of fun, but I think it's less interesting and more straight up shonen.

I started with Zero, and I feel it was a good way to start, but a lot of people disagree.

If insisting on anime-only: Zero. Otherwise the true way is the game (which is now fully available on modern platforms with translation).

Has it? More than one forum has expected that commentary should contribute to the discussion. Reddit is the most prominent example, where originally upvotes were intended to be used for comments that contributed to the discussion. It's not the first or only example, however.

Sure, the motivation for many people to write comments is to satisfy themselves. The contents of those comments should not be purely self-satisfying, though.

> Reddit is the most prominent example

Reddit was originally just one guy with 100s of accounts. The epitome of writing for oneself.

> upvotes were intended to be used for comments that contributed to the discussion.

Intent is established by he who acts, not he who observes. It fundamentally cannot be any other way. The intent of an upvote is down to whatever he who pressed the button intended. That was case from conception of said feature, and will always remain the case. Attempting to project what you might have intended had you been the one who acted onto another party is illogical.

> The contents of those comments should not be purely self-satisfying, though.

Unless, perhaps, you are receiving a commission with detailed requirements, there is really no way to know what someone else will find satisfying. All you can do is write for yourself. If someone else also finds enjoyment in what you created, wonderful, but if not, who cares? That's their problem. And if you did receive a commission to write for another, well, you'd expect payment. Who among us is being paid to write comments?

I wonder if the already-bad Horizon OS will get worse now.

So in your situation, noise from your PC was showing up in other equipment on the same circuit.

Did you try replacing the PSU?

The answer to why not all USB3 A is probably PCIe lanes. AM4 and AM5 are absolutely starved for PCIe lanes.

It could also just be a cost issue.

the Series is one of the worst naming decisions in history. To this day I find myself mixing up the One X, One S, Series X, and Series S.

Even before they muddied things with reusing the S and X names for completely different things, "Xbox One" was bad enough

I worked at a pawn shop when that console generation kicked off. One day a guy called in and asked if he could bring in his Xbox One. "Of course," I told him, until I had to turn him away because it was an original Xbox.

I don't think it'll outsell any current console. Not even the anemic and dying Xbox Series X.

I think that appropriately priced and supported, it will put Valve in a strategic position to actually compete in subsequent console generations as a real player. It's a little behind in terms of specs, but with as slow as uptake of this generation has been, I expect that developers will continue to target base PS5 specs for another six years at least (PS6 supposedly landing in 2027). Then they can drop their Steam Machine 2 in 2029 or 2030, hitting base PS6 specs at an affordable price. It's been a winning approach for Nintendo.

I feel like part of the problem with going beyond gigabit Ethernet is that copper beyond 1 gigabit is expensive with limited adoption. SFP+ fiber is superior and not even expensive any more, but there's no consumer adoption.

You can replace the internal ssd with an off-the-shelf ssd and it also has SD card support, so there should be less need for external SSDs.

Gigabit Ethernet is definitely a bummer when I'm close to having fiber all the way to my PC.

You do not need big hands to use a classic steam controller, you just need to shift your grip. It's actually hard to use a steam controller with big hands. With long thumbs, the proper grip doesn't land your thumbs in the middle of the track pads.

Failing to better communicate the proper grip for the steam controller was a real fuck up on valve's part though. They should have tried to communicate it through design, making it harder to hold wrong.

I am kind of concerned about the size of the new controller, but valve seems to have decided there's no place in the market for a controller without sticks.
