Some companies, such as GoDaddy have access to DNS zone files - this is the then resold to even more companies. Look at my reply to this article to see where you can get a list for free.

To everyone looking for expiring/dropping domain lists, ive been building an app called dropparser that uses a free source (though I dont see it being mentioned in here yet). Some python code for you:

You can do what I do: don't read the comments. Pretty simple solution and you still get to find some great articles to read.

I absolutely LOVE this app. I'm very into fitness and getting recipes for my kind of diet can be pretty difficult. You definitely need to add some more recipes though as I keep getting a "simple fish chowder" for breakfast/meal 3/meal 4/meal 5 which is a little too much of the same thing.

Im looking forward to using this to track my macros.

Your rake analogy is not sound. Ok so Google gives Gmail for free - as in you don't need to pay for it.

But is it really "free"? No.

They parse your emails so they know what you are buying/selling, who you are talking to, what sites you have a membership on, etc. They also use Gmail to display ads (based off of the things they learned from your emails) to make money off of you. They probably do other things i'm not even thinking of right now. So is it really free? Not at all. Is it a great source of information about you (to then be used by them to target ads at you)? Absolutely.

They should be providing support for it. I don't know what that support should look like (be it a call center, forums, etc), but I definitely think that if I give Google permission to snoop through my personal email so they can build better ads for me (which is how they make the majority of their money) I expect some damn support.

Since that shoe had to drop, you could also point out that they DO provide support.

There are google groups, message boards, support forums, HowTos. There's even Prioritized phone support that you can apparently sign up for.[1]

It's not as though they hand you the source code and a note saying "Good luck."

The source code would be more helpful, since a thousand companies would already be competing for the privilege to provide basic support to individual users.

By that same argument, you'd think that companies providing a gmail-like service + support would be making piles and piles of money.

Weight is pretty much a useless metric if you are already slim and want to find out when you are going to start seeing definition (like your abdominals for example). Body Fat % is really the only indicator for that and even then it is hit or miss as it depends on the elasticity of the persons skin (like if they just lost 100 lb''s they'll have a ton of excess skin covering their abs). Cool site, i'd just like to see BF% instead of weight.

FYI: The default resolution a 27" thunderbolt display is 2560x1440. If you're interested in supporting a lot of different resolutions, you may consider starting there and scaling down.

There are quite a few studies that show the correlation between legalizing drugs and domestic crime - Portugal being one of the most cited - and it's been shown that legalizing drugs actually decreases crime. We should be sending drug addicts to rehabilitation centers... Not prison, where drugs are rampant and only further increases the drug addicts dependence on narcotics.

Nitpick: Portugal didn't legalized drugs; "we" just decriminalized the possession of small quantities. It's still a crime to grow, cook, distribute and sell them.

So were they actually selling the drugs or were they just operating a marketplace similar to Silk Road?

Also, why the hell would they use PayPal?! At least SR uses bitcoins.
