I was born in 1999 and couldn't agree less. I barely remember a time before smartphones were popular, and now I despise them. Both the social aspects that have built up around them and much of the software technology itself. The fact that "Sideloading" is even a term seems absurd to me. And I plead that some day the current AI trends will be over, and we'll still have at least a few people left making good literary and visual art. Sure ChatGPT can make you a nice internal memo, but that's because they were already being used to say little and convey nothing.

I'm in exactly the right stage of my life to take advantage of generative AI, but I want nothing to do with it, and somehow an entire industry with millions of people working in it can only focus on one thing at a time.
