This is certainly sarcasm.

Yesterday I was learning about processors, so I bought a foundry.

Doesn't everyone do this?

Misread "TLD" as "domain." Whoops.

What they are offering is actually very simple, and systematic.

While the list of foods containing fodmaps has changed a lot lately, there are several sources that are up to date. University of Michigan has a lot of reliable resources.

The system is described in full here: http://www.myginutrition.com/diet.html (U of M)

They also have a pinterest that has tons of ideas and specific brands they've tested... Which is here: https://www.pinterest.com/UMGIdietitians/

Full list of foods here: http://www.myginutrition.com/downloads/Low_FODMAP_foods.pdf

The warning my dietitian has given me, is that many of the websites out there are using out of date information pertaining to foods; and that I should only trust their lists.

You just put this startup out of business. The Michigan Uni website and video tutorials are more complete than Caelum's mvp. Couldn't figure out how to get Caelum's website to work, it just dumped me into a food log todo-style app with no info how to use it.

Our core value currently is the 1-on-1 coaching, so the MVP app is meant to support the coaching service (and currently working on building out the content). Michigan has some great content, but it’s a different experience than having a coach or dietitian. It could be supplemental to a dietitian - sounds like this is the use case for trowway21. There are definitely people out there who want to do the diet with content/info only, and our service wouldn’t be a good fit for them.

Thanks for your feedback on finding the app disorienting - that’s helpful for us to know as we improve it moving forwards.

The extent of your personality test for me was reading my post on mobile.

I was simply pointing out that what you had typed in the comment that I replied to, is exactly what the dude who came up with those 'types' wrote down as definitions.

Context helps, thanks. Your other post felt more like you were throwing your knowledge in my face and calling me wrong.

I take prescription stimulants for APD, audio processing disorder; whatever that actually is.. For me, I have difficulty hearing people talk and focusing when exposed to multiple or dynamic background noises.. Basically it's a failure of autonomous filtering or prioritizing of sounds.

I was on Belle Isle last year, two times, which is a few hundred meters from Windsor, and the sound was extremely soothing for whatever reason.. I spent days on end thinking and reaearching. I finally attributed the sound to some sort of tunnel boring machinery. There are a handful of salt mines in windsor, which i discovered after seeing more than the two tunnels I was aware of, between Detroit and Windsor, in the river, on Google Earth.

I am in the habit of identifying every sound that I am exposed to consistently, which I noticed when I bought a new house. After moving I diligently inspected my HVAC system, computer fans, appliances, which neighbors parked where, and how hard they slammed their doors, etc. Not only do I identify every sound, but I also actively recognize and consider every combination of sounds.(neighbor1.carDoorSlam sounds different when my furnace is on, or furnace+fridge compressor, for example.) Once I know for certain what a sound is, I can identify it immediately, and continue with my current activity knowing that it was just some irrelevant, petty routine happening.

I can't imagine enduring a sound like that for long, while knowing I am unable to identify it; I was able to convince myself that it was due to tunnel boring; but I seldom am reminded of the sound and never disturbed by it, since I don't live in the area..

Were there any ships around? Last year I had vacation in Malta and I could barely sleep due to constant, low, barely noticeable noise. I have attributed it to the ship engines, as there were many of them around and couldn't find better explanation (tried to turn off every appliance and sleep in different room with no avail).

You must be mistaking Kaku for someone else... Kaku is concerned that dishonest people attempt to control masses using people like Tyson. He describes two different worlds yes, but rather one where a big government controls thought with propaganda and by manipulating science, vs one which does not attempt to do so. Kaku discusses implications of such manipulations and explorers parallels to history, while DeGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye are simply tools used to carry out those manipulations, for money. One has been driven to obscurity by the mainstream media, the other bathes in it's wealth.

I think Michio Kaku deserves a recognition for his efforts in explaining things in a way that non scientific people can understand. That's not easy. We need more like him.

Kaku mostly tells stories with cosmology and futuristic buzzwords these days. If you want to excite the imagination of a child and foster interest in science, I find his stuff potentially useful. However, the actual educational content is pretty poor.

I used to love Kaku as a kid. I read his book Hyperspace several times in elementary school and even ended up buying a string theory graduate text out of the induced enthusiasm. That book was scary impenetrable to me at the time. Lol

Now Kaku's videos and stuff just leave a bad taste in my mouth. It fells like he mostly sells science as some magical mysterious thing that is only accessible to the intelligentsia elite.

The difficulty of explaining complex concepts in a way that a laymen can understand is underappreciated.

Under appreciated and much needed.

Make a browser extension that works across all browsers to sync user data. Then inform consumers. Consumers then easily switch to better independent browser builds, forcing media holders' hands. If consumers have no desire or ability to become aware, and can't muster the will to delay gratification for a few days it's hopeless. Consumer awareness must be the end goal; rather than establishing a smaller subset of aware representatives to tell the media holders the consumers care. The media distribution channels own the media right holders. They control the flow of $ completely. Six corporations have complete control. Same corporations choose which of the infinite security flaws to discuss on the news, and effectively dictate the browsers and consumption methods/endpoints people use. No solution will acomplish the result of total consumer awareness, for any period of time, without first achieving consumer awareness.

Lol. So back crypto $ with trillions of $ of debt going back to the Louisiana purchase; kept alive by a pyramid scheme dependant on a certain and limitless supply of debt free immigrants, after they continue to prove they don't require anything concrete to generate demand & subsequently value?

Aka: how interested are people in a cryptocurrency worth market value minus 20 trillion $?

The banks are in debt to trillions of dollars to people who are 'in credit'. That's what 'in credit' means. It is the accounting term for a liability.

Does that keep you awake at night too?

For every asset there is a liability - even with cryptocurrencies.

What you are missing with government 'debt' is that it creates safe private assets that keep the pension system going.

> For every asset there is a liability - even with cryptocurrencies.

I would think that bitcoin is no-ones liability? I mean, there are a bunch of bitcoins that you may or may not be able to sell someone with a price, but there is no-one who has any kind of legal or even moral obligation to give you anything in exchange of a bitcoin.

Liability will start once you start loaning them out to others and package the loans to other investors who them show them as assets to borrow something from someone else :).

Sure. But it is not the bitcoin that is the liability, it is the loan contract.

If I understand your argument, you're saying that I'm a 'creditor' to my bank when I deposit money there that they are obliged to return on demand. Fair enough, but the reason I deal with banks is that it's cheaper than protecting my assets personally. Cryptocurrency is cheaper than dealing with the banks.

So if I find a dollar on the beach and pick it up, what liability has been created by my having a new asset? Are you saying that the potential to find the dollar was some sort of collective asset that I've turned into a liability? That seems like an unnecessarily complicated way of looking at things.

The only thing that can keep the pension system going is a growing population paying into it. Pensions are the ultimate pyramid scheme, the idea that bonds are a safe private asset... safe compared to what, and how safe on an absolute basis?

> So if I find a dollar on the beach and pick it up, what liability has been created by my having a new asset?

That dollar bill is a title of government debit.

Alternate framing: let's back crypto with payment obligations tied to the economic output of the world's richest economy rather than backing it by optimism.

Ultimately I'd have much more confidence in a cryptocurrency backed by enforceable [probably private IRL] debt obligations than one which wasn't.

US GDP is $18.5 trillion so yeah it has some debt but also some decent revenue. Yeah, I'd be interested.

You know, if Tom owes Sally, and Sally owes Jes, and Jes owes Tom, it's really not clean and cut to say "all debt" or "all revenue" because it depends on which node is the focal point.

Your sentiment about fiat is appreciated and understood, but it's inaccurate to claim that USD's total value is equivalent to the current national deficit.

He's referring to the debt, not deficit. They aren't the same thing.

Stand corrected, thanks, meant the "national debt".

The FBI has still not been given access to the server... Comey just testified to that fact last week. They were stonewalled. They went to crowdstrike instead, eventually, who retracted the the only actual evidence which supported their claims just recently. Crowdstrike retracted upon the internet discovering the relevant dns records were most likely spoofed. Dare you to not refuse to read through this.... https://weaponizedautism.wordpress.com/2017/04/09/trump-dns-...

You realize that crowdstrike retracted the report? They were called out by some kids on the internet and got some media coverage, Feinstein commented the next morning, regretfully admitting crowdstrike, the only evidence they had, had to retract, here is the 'hard evidence.'

https://weaponizedautism.wordpress.com/2017/04/09/trump-dns-...

You're talking about a different report, about the presence of X-agent in Ukrainian artillery. And it wasn't a full retraction, it was just a correction, which did not undermine the key points. https://www.crowdstrike.com/wp-content/brochures/FancyBearTr... The correction had to do with mis-representing the number of troops killed, it did not dispute that an X-agent variant was found on the artillery.
