Sorry, didn‘t see it in the search before I submitted it

Actually i think you submitted a minute or so first.

I should have checked the timestamps, my bad.

How can you check timestamps that precisely?

Hover over the English time. There is a title that has the exact timestamp.

Nitter itself is still fine, there are like 2 public-ish instances I‘m aware of but I think people should go out and host some in more private communities/run one over Tor or something

I don't know what your definition of "fine" is, but Nitter and XCancel received C&Ds three days ago:

<https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/issues/1442>

HN: <https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49437283>

From HN's PoV, the issue is that there aren't well-known workarounds which can be used for X.com / Twitter.com submissions. HN's principle concern is more that any discussion on such posts will largely revolve around the regwall / paywall, which doesn't advance HN's own prime directive: <https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27901918>

I thought about it from functioning perspective, but yeah, legally it might‘ve been a bit dubious

Forgejo, and by extent Codeberg, has the punchcard-like feature, it‘s just hidden under „Public activity“ on the profile page

My gitea instance was only ~6 DB migrations beyond where Forgejo was at when I decided to switch, so I just undo‘d those and upgraded anyways. Works just fine, but I was really lucky that they weren‘t any big migrations. I guess isn‘t really as feasible anymore.

+1, but I think the documentation surrounding this should be a bit better. I didn‘t know they did this until I read that comment

He said OpenAI in the comment (if I read it correctly)

Ah, my bad. Thanks for pointing that out :)

Regarding the residental botnets: check their TLS fingerprint, they usually (at least from my experience) have the same few JA4 hashes that don‘t match with modern browsers

Are they all LG TVs or similar?

Not sure, I couldn‘t find those fingerprints anywhere and I couldn‘t replicate them in any browser I had access to (Safari iOS, Windows & Linux Firefox & Chromium), so I decided to block them. I haven‘t had a single person complain yet. Their UA are usually the most random ones you can find (who uses a PPC mac nowadays?)

cant read the entire article on ios because the left part is just somehow cut off :(

Same on Android, insane that people aren't validating for mobile in current year

Reader Mode works great.

Setting a minimum width that works on your screen is a bad habit that’s luckily mostly dead, in favor of responsiveness.

Insane author here. I think I just fixed this issue, if you wanna give it another try!

It works on Firefox Android.

Works, thanks!

this article hasn't been loading for me for about 3 hours, here's an archive.org link: https://web.archive.org/web/20260506043414/https://openrss.o...

I think their site got hugged to death. It worked for me at first but not anymore. Now I get:

> Too many requests are being made, which brings down the performance of feeds for other users. Please wait a while before requesting more feed content or log in for full access

I only know of the one text file MKDEV added to their Persona bypass: https://pastebin.com/hps67mkh
