It's cheap enough to run a few services that I'd prefer to keep off my home machines. How secure are these containers though? I always thought that Linux containers were not designed to be a guaranteed firewall between multiple tenants. EDIT: They use their own technology to run docker on "bare metal hypervisors" - https://github.com/hyperhq/hyperd. That's actually pretty cool.

They don't use Linux container, they use hypervisor-based container (see: github.com/hyperhq/hyperd). Therefore it is VM-level isolation.
