Really? Every time I hear 'how was your day?' from some random I don't know, it always seems like a silly question, almost a formality. I invariably respond with 'yeah, fine', just to get it over with.

I should maybe add that I struggle with small-talk at the best of times, so I'm probably a sales person's worst nightmare :)

Maybe I should also add that I'm from the UK, and we don't generally go in for 'have a great day' and all that American smiley stuff :)
