I wouldn't be surprised if people have been flagging it. Back when FB was getting slammed for the Definers controversy among other ongoing controversies, multiple commenters were bemoaning HN's purported collective hate against FB. That said, makes sense for that thread to move down while this current discussion stays near the top, as this discussion contains the newest developments/fallout.
(in contrast, the similarly highly-upvoted Facetime bug thread [0] seemed to stay up longer, but no official fix had been made in the ~18 hours since it was first discussed)
