I'd forgotten about the whole polyphastic sleep fad. Everything else there has stuck around in some form, but polyphastic sleep totally vanished.

Oh, that one's just on a longer cycle. It's not just a HN thing; the entire Internet collectively rediscovers polyphasic sleep every five or ten years.

There's something almost a bit unique about the combination of how problematic and how popular JS is.

Last time we had this combination (extremely popular, inferior design) was on the peak of PHPs popularity.
