I'm starting to think Scott Alexander's 2018 essay 'Sort by Controversial' is in danger of losing its 'epistemic status: fiction' label, and I'm not joking when I say that.
Epistemology is under-rated. Fiction becomes fact more rarely than people think, because the components of fiction which are factualised are hypotheses couched as fiction about potential reality.
