Ask HN: High refresh rate monitors for writing code?

I was writing some code yesterday, and noticed that I was really bothered by the blurriness of text on my screen while scrolling. I was visually scanning for a string, which I couldn't remember the name of, in a manpage (https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man2/mmap.2.html) while scrolling one notch at a time on my scroll wheel. It was so blurry that I to spend time stopping the scroll, scanning, and continuing. I remember this being easier on a CRT.

With gaming monitors being releasing with crazy high refresh rates (some nearing the 400Hz range), I was wondering if anyone has experience with writing code on one of these displays? If so, is the experience any better?

Sometimes even on the terminal, I wish I could scan output more easily while scrolling.

I code on two laptops, one with a 240Hz display and one with a 60Hz display (but touchscreen).

The 240Hz feels definitely a lot more smooth and comfortable. Just moving the mouse is nicer, so is scrolling text or a webpage. I would recommend.
