Apple was the one who provided and wrote those Bootcamp drivers for Windows, not Microsoft. That's how it normally works: the hardware vendor writes (or contracts, whatever) the drivers for the hardware they ship, not Microsoft. Windows by itself isn't much of an obstacle; it'll boot on just about any x86 device as long as the drivers are there...
