Huh? The title seems inaccurate to me, considering the page says:

> Google isn't shutting off the API access until March 15, 2021, but I have gone ahead and disabled it starting with this update.

So it seems to be that Fedora has turned the features off early, and Google has not (yet).

(at the time of writing the title says "Google has turned off")



The difference is somewhat meaningless. It will be gone very soon regardless of what fedora does. Cutting it off early means they can time it with a release so people get the release notes rather than it just stopping working without having updated.
