So it seems to be that Fedora has turned the features off early, and Google has not (yet). (at the time of writing the title says "Google has turned off")

The difference is somewhat meaningless. It will be gone very soon regardless of what fedora does. Cutting it off early means they can time it with a release so people get the release notes rather than it just stopping working without having updated.
