Yeah, I wanted to replace my aging Macbook Air with a Linux box but each and every PC laptop trackpad was such a step down that I got hesitant. Additionally, PC manufacturers have been slow to adapt modern IO like Thunderbolt (like Dell had exactly one half-speed TB port for years on their flagship line where Apple had 4 full-speed).
Now I've capitulated and am just waiting for the next iteration of the Apple silicon Macbooks.
It is sad, but due to not generating sales at the same scale as MS or Apple, Linux lacks the development power to keep up.
