MySQL is clearly the javascript of databases. PostgreSQL is the Rust of databases.

Agrees, MySQL is full of crap while Postgres kept too few craps. But the majority of the internet (especially in China) is built on top of a crap database, just like most of the websites nowadays are powered by crappy scriping languages (JS, Python, PHP). Whoever got it quick (and dirty most of the case) wins the market.

That's where Worse is better idiom [1], again, unfortunately shines: The world is not built on top of elegancy, but by brutality (in the same sense as brtualism architecture, not bloodlust) and rapidness.
