If I'm remembering right, Carmack believes AGI will be a thing by 2030. He said this in his recent interview with Lex Fridman.

But I think something of the level of a 6 year old, not so much a super being.


From what I remember, his definition of AGI didn't include an average IQ, which it shouldn't.
