I'm asking this here because it seems like there arent any good search results for this question, but I swear I saw some bungie commentors on here in the past.

I have a friend who constantly gets exotics (approximately 1 per hour playing heroic nightfalls) in Destiny 2. Another friend and I have never had one drop (only given in storyline/quests rewards) after 50+ hours of play, including playing dungeons and nightfalls with this other friend.

I'm wondering if there are individusl player factors that heavily weight drop rate... or if the universe just hates some people more (aka how can a randomization algo sustain these sorts of streaks without individual player factors)?
