You can mitigate the issue by having an encrypted db only for 2FA codes, but I would still advise having those in a completely separate app anyway.

Yep. That's exactly what I did.

Imported the 2FA seeds into a special new db that's in then put in cold storage (unlike the regular db that gets synced around).
