I respectfully disagree. "Beg" is also such a strong word here. I don't think there's anything wrong for him to post volunteering opportunity for people with IT skill to help homeless people
Strongly disagree. I think this is a great thread for people looking for opportunities to volunteer for non-profits. There are awesome mutually beneficial career opportunities
Also disagree, not only is volunteering time and knowledge not usually something that costs much, there are a number of reasons it's a good idea for someone looking for work. Folks looking for work may have time, it can create new connections they wouldn't have made otherwise, keeps skills sharp and even can help learn new skills that could open doors to other opportunities that didn't exist prior. Not to mention something that can fill in a gap in a resume/cv.
And not everyone reading these threads is between jobs either, and so it could be an opportunity for fully employed folks to give back as well. And from a different aspect, volunteering may allow someone to be able to give back when they may not have the means to do so in other ways.
I’m not looking for work really. I skim the posts out of general interest and I find posts like this interesting. This one is not for me (not in the UK) but I would like to see others.
