Correction: this is not for "data hoarders" at all, this is all about movies with IMDB titles. If you collect some other forms of data (home/non-professional recordings, music, photos, other non-video data, etc...) this is not for you.

The need to format your filenames in specific ways for Plex and Jellyfin is quite annoying, do you know if there is any plugin for Jellyfin that has a bit more smarts about it?
You need to format filenames in specific ways for Jellyfin?
I think the only "reformatting" that I usually have to do is that Tv Shows need to be in folders that follow a certain logical structure:
`Peep Show/Season 1/episode1.*`
I think as long as the episodes inside the season can be ordered they can have whatever name. I don't think I've ever renamed a single episode and I've never had any problems with jellyfin putting them in the right spot.
In general, jellyfin does an amazing job at getting the appropriate metadata for movies and tv shows. It's only anime where things might get a bit iffy, though I have an extension to support anime metadata.
Is this what you're referring to? I've never really been too bothered by it, as this would basically be the way I would structure my Tv Shows anyway. As for movies, you don't really have to do anything at all i just chuck them into the movies folder and that's it.
I'm in the habit of just stripping off the (to me) extraneous bits of the typical filename (codecs, source, release) and just leaving the title name, year and video quality in the file name. I've never had Jellyfin choke on fetching the correct metadata.
Thanks for your work on this. Could you add a bunch of screenshots to your docs? Videos are fine but it's easier to decide to give something a go with screenshots.
