I set this up to connect a TP-Link Deco X50-5G router at my parents' place to be able to troubleshoot their network, they practically live in the middle of the forest and 5G is the only option. The router supports a WireGuard VPN server, but has a proprietary firmware and is pretty locked down, no way to run Tailscale on it.
Now I have it connected to my tailnet with this docker container on a VPS, and it's pretty stable even through regular reboots and IP changes.
