The Rise of "Mindless" TV: Quantifying a New Way of (Kinda) Watching Television (statsignificant.com)

I would love my streaming services if I could pick a show or play list and put it on shuffle, repeating forever. For shows I've already seen, anyway. I HATE choosing. And watching something in order makes me feel like I have to pay attention more.

But I feel like streaming services don't want us to watch, since that cost them money, they just want the subs.

Instead, I downloaded my favorite shows, mix them into various playlist in VLC, and put shuffle on. I hate choosing so much, it's usually just the "all" playlist I put on. It's glorious.
