That sounds suspiciously like spontaneous generation - what is the actual theory?


Did some research as it seems people don't like it when you don't have citations.

A Dutch researcher named Baas Becker wrote in 1934 "Everything is everywhere, but the environment selects".


Not sure I ever read about it in a textbook... more of a micro professional talked about it so I can't provide a source.
