Due to the low action on Dokku in 2013-2014 Dokku-alt emerged as a really neat viable alternative. However, with Deis starting to sponsor Dokku fall 2014, Dokku have gotten some traction again. Do you have any thoughts on which one to use and prefer?

From my very limited view it seems Dokku-alt has a lot of neat features (like the web interface plugin and a lot of stuff/support for things like DBs out of the box).

However, the Deis sponsorship and the original creator of Dokku seems to be a really smart guy, and there seems to be more general support for Dokku (e.g. DigitalOcean has a Dokku image ready to go), etc. This makes me wonder if Dokku might actually be a better long term, more stable and secure choice?
